Accreditations

When you go online to search for 'TEFL course', almost half a million results will crop up. So how do you choose which among these TEFL courses should you take? The difference lies in the qualifications of the educational institution offering the TEFL course. Remember that even a run-of-the-mill school which does not even specialize in English-instruction courses can offer you a TEFL certification.

The question is, does the educational institution have enough qualifications and certifications to give you the degree that you really need to have an international teaching career? Do they have a team of qualified tutors who are also accredited in the field of TEFL? What other accreditations should they possess to make a student like you enrol for their TEFL program?

Why it pays to take an accredited TEFL course

The difference between a normal TEFL course and an accredited TEFL course is the fact that the latter is a much more recognized certification in the field of professional English teaching.

Let us consider an example. If you are applying for a job and you posses a TEFL certification course from an un-recognized TEFL Company, and there is another applicant who has earned a TEFL certificate from an accredited educational institution. What do you think are your chances of being chosen for the job? Naturally, the person with an accredited TEFL course will have better chances of being hired as compared to the regular TEFL certification course that you earned.
