Things To Do: Amman
Although Amman is not power-packed with tourist destinations, there are plenty of places to see within the city limits. At the same time, it is a gateway for you to discover the other delights that Jordan has to offer. Here are some of the activities that you can indulge in while visiting Amman:
- Check out the Roman Theater, the entrance of which leads to the folklore and popular museum.
- Check out the Temple of Herakles, the Byzantine Church or the Ummayad Palace.
- Explore Rainbow Street which is near the First Circle in Jabal Amman.
- Have a view of the white stone city of Amman from the Ammonite-era watchtower.
- Have a glimpse of the Darat al Funun or small house of the arts in Jabal el Weibdeh.
- To experience the Old Amman, make sure to pay the central downtown Balad a visit where you can shop for souvenirs at the local souqs, shops and sample the wares of the street vendors.
